About the Course
Basic Litter Handling is a 5-part course serving as a preamble to a larger concept and teaching. Often, the term "cliff rescue" shines the light on the vertical movement of a patient and attendee in a basket or litter. However, more often than not, the scenario is more of a group of people in a "carry out" and this is often the site of numerous rescue technician injuries (namely back and ankles.) This short series serves only as an illumination of a larger topic.
Class 4 and Class 5 will be added very soon as the videos techniques we use are being adjusted now to reflect more current thoughts, but honestly, there is nothing basic about Class 4 and 5 litter work.
The Basic Litter Handling course is a more than just a teaser; it's a start to finish inside look at what handlers must "know before they go." It isn't to say there aren't other ways to move a basket around — the concepts in this course are foundational.

Good basic course
Mike Januszkiewicz
Although it may seem a bit too basic, realistically, the discussion is accurate and concise. The videos are short and to the point. Nicely done.

So often the extra guys would be following instead of leading. I've done that for years but definitely learned lots from the training.

Great demonstrations
Billy Martin
The terrain explanation and demonstrations were great. But why quiz before info is presented? Why only show horizontal rigging and not verticle?
